Computational Biology (CompBio) Group

Organized by Dr. Anna Green

Mission & Focus

The Computational Biology (CompBio) group, organized by Dr. Anna Green, brings together computational biology labs across the UMass Amherst campus. We discuss current research projects, offer feedback and discussion, and nucleate new collaborations. Our group focuses on applications of mathematical, statistical, and machine learning techniques to biological datasets.

By connecting experts from departments such as Mathematics, Computer and Information Sciences (CICS), Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, and Chemistry, we bridge the gap between computational biology-related disciplines. Our group includes participation from undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and professors. We aim to foster an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed and encouraged.
