Seeking DS4CG 2026 Partners
The Data Science for the Common Good (DS4CG) program at UMass Amherst connects nonprofits, public-sector organizations, and mission-driven academics with data science talent and expert faculty to co-create data-driven solutions that advance the common good.
Each summer, DS4CG student teams apply cutting-edge analytics, machine learning, and visualization techniques to support partners’ work in areas such as education, health, environmental sustainability, and social equity.
There is no cost to participate. DS4CG is generously funded by the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, industry affiliates, and individual donors.
HOW IT WORKS
Develop AI skills tailored to your work.
DS4CG is an experiential learning summer program hosted by the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CDSAI) at UMass Amherst.
We pair teams of outstanding computer science and informatics students with mission-driven organizations to co-design solutions with meaningful impact. Each team is supported by CDSAI staff who provide mentorship and technical guidance throughout the summer.
The 2026 DS4CG session will run from early June through early August. Partner organizations are selected in February 2026, allowing time to recruit and match student teams with projects before the program begins.
