Data Core’s AI-Driven Approach to Enhancing Music Therapy for Older Adults with MassAITC and SingFit

SingFit is a company that facilitates music therapy both in person and using digital applications. They currently provide applications for working therapists to use with their patients and for personal home use.

Data Core is conducting user studies and collecting data to develop an improved music recommendation app for older adults at risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), particularly in regions where in-person care and therapy are less accessible.

By applying machine learning and artificial intelligence, the team aims to create an intelligent recommendation system that analyzes data to identify the most effective therapeutic music components. This model will be designed to enhance engagement and emotional connection for older adults in rural areas, offering a more inclusive tool for those traditionally underrepresented in the development of music-based digital health interventions.

This project emerged from the Center for Data Science’s collaboration with the Massachusetts AI and Technology Center for Connected Care in Aging & Alzheimer’s Disease (MassAITC).
