HILL For Literacy partners with schools and districts using a system-wide approach that helps create lasting change in literacy education through a combination of courses, coaching, and facilitation. This DS4CG team will be completing an exploratory data analysis of HILL’s available student and program implementation and building a prototype instructional focus recommendation system.

The Maryland Department of Budget and Management helps support state agencies in providing effective, efficient, and fiscally sound government to the citizens of Maryland. As Maryland modernizes its workforce infrastructure, this DS4CG team will develop a Market Analysis Tool that ingests, scrapes, and analyzes external job market data to help align state job titles, salaries, and minimum qualifications with the larger labor market context.

The Boston Cyclists Union advocates for safer, more accessible bicycling through improved infrastructure across the Boston area. This DS4CG team will analyze the region’s cycling network and develop a workflow to identify which road and infrastructure improvements would provide the greatest benefit to cyclists based on network connectivity and projected travel demand.

avian influenza
Avian Influenza is a transboundary disease that persists and evolves in wild populations of waterfowl but can be transmitted to domestic poultry resulting in costly outbreaks. Existing projects track bird migration (BirdFlow) and real-time migration traffic (BirdCast), a USGS-funded app helps poultry producers assess risk based on bird abundance and movement. However, the app displays historical patterns rather than current conditions. This DS4CG team aims to combine BirdCast’s real-time data with BirdFlow’s species-level information to produce real-time, species-specific bird traffic estimates for improved risk assessment.

AI for Hampden County is an AI enablement program that helps organizations in the region foster a culture of innovation in AI through scalable tools, structured programming, and dedicated support. This DS4CG team is supporting the program’s AI Acceleration Projects, including an AI Marketing Agent, and exploring additional solutions such as a Grant Finding Agent and RAG system for contract analysis.
