Data Science for the Common Good (DS4CG) is a summer program that trains aspiring data scientists to work on real-world problems that benefit the common good.

AI FOR THE COMMONWEALTH

Jointly managed by the Center for Data Science & AI and the Public Interest Technology Initiative, this internship program brings together talented UMass CICS undergraduate students, state institutions, and UMass mentors to apply cutting edge GenAI to solve real-world challenges for MA institutions and communities.

Prompt Engineering – Skill-Based Training for LLMs

Hands-on workshop: Learn to use LLMs effectively with practical prompting. This module will cover prompting strategies, reusable prompt templates, and creating RAG-based agents in the UMass GenAI Platform.

AI Enablement: Advanced LLMs – APIs, RAG, and Custom Workflows
